ITINERARY:

CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

At 03:00h, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and then transfer to Ollantaytambo. There, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes, where we will have breakfast (not included) and take the opportunity to buy water and some snacks before boarding the bus to the Machu Picchu citadel.

Here, we will start a 1-hour tour with our guide, providing information about the construction and the purpose of each space that makes up this archaeological site today. Afterward, we will have free time to take the last photographs and explore the citadel before starting the return to be half an hour before the train departure at the Aguas Calientes station. We will arrive at Ollantaytambo, from where we will board a vehicle that will take us back to the historic center of Cusco.

NOTE: It is not possible to climb any mountain, neither Machu Picchu nor Huayna Picchu, since the visit to the citadel is made from the second shift, which does not allow the ascent to the mountains.

Visit to the archaeological site

To enter to Machu Picchu archaeological site, you must have the so-called Llaqta Machu Picchu entrance ticket. Remember that, in case you select a program without entrance fee, you can buy it in the Ministerio de Cultura website.

The entrance will give you access to the archaeological site following one of its 4 circuits, which you will have to choose once you are in the citadel entrance:

  • Circuit 1: Upper and lower part of the archaeological site, as well as the terraced and terrace areas for 3 hours.
  • Circuit 2: Upper and lower part of the archaeological site, as well as the routes to Inti Punku and the Inca Bridge for 4 hours.
  • Circuit 3: Lower part of the archaeological site, including the agricultural zone, Temple of the Sun, Inca House, and the Archaeological Reserve for 1 and a half hours.
  • Circuit 4: Lower part of the archaeological site, including the agricultural zone, Temple of the Sun, Inca House, Sacred Rock, and water mirrors for 2 and a half hours.

We recommend that you choose circuit 2 to tour the citadel, as you will be able to visit more attractions inside Machu Picchu and take the classic photographs.

We receive bookings with minimum 48 hours in advance. However, the places are limited and are always subject to availability. Machu Picchu is located between the Andes Mountain Range and the Amazonas Jungle, having a warm and mild weather, with a minimum average temperature of 12°C and a maximum average temperature of 24°C.
